The problems of democracy and democracy as a problem

Abstract
The author analyzes some aspects of the debates on democracy in the so-called transition of the ̓80s, in order to warn about the preeminence acquired by procedural and representative dispositions -raised to a meta-normative condition- and the conceptualization of politics as the production of consensus. These orientations prevented a recovery of the democratic experiences that the dictatorship tried to cancel, and were unable to focus on the figures of subjectivity that state terror and neoliberalism produced as interventions on the social fabric. Finally, the author briefly discusses some democratizing political experiences, as forms of emergence of the peoples in the last 40 years.
